Stand-up Comedy

First-time booking discount $650

Our show options

Every other month ( Recurring )

$750

We do a show at your venue every other month. You always get me as the headliner and a rotating lineup of comics I enjoy working with to curate a fantastic night of comedy.

Payment and promotion

  • Guaranteed fee: $750. A portion of this guarantee will be used for online ad spend to promote the show.

  • Ticket split: After the guarantee is fulfilled, ticket revenue is split 50/50.

  • Promotion: We will promote the show online, but in-house promotion is the most effective. The guarantee helps ensure venue staff are actively promoting the show in the weeks leading up to the event.

Box office and on-site sales

  • If guests want to buy tickets in person while they’re at the bar or dining, please take their payment and add them to the list. In-person sales help build the crowd and the vibe.

Partnership approach

  • Shows work best as a partnership. The guarantee not only covers the talent but also creates an incentive for staff to engage guests and drive ticket sales, leading to better attendance and a stronger night for everyone.

Quarterly shows ( Recurring )

$1200

Same format as our every-other-month show, but sized for larger rooms and an event vibe. For venues over 90 seats, extra promo time makes the night better. We keep the same guarantee and split—no surprises—so you get a professionally produced, profitable show with proven talent.

Ideal for:

  • Event spaces, private venues

  • Larger bars/restaurants with strong foot traffic

  • Community centers, hotel ballrooms, multi-purpose rooms

We provide:

  • Curated lineup of experienced comics for your room/audience

  • Professional MC to keep flow and crowd engagement tight

  • Full show production: sound, basic lighting guidance, timing, door management

  • Promotional assets and guidance (copy, poster specs, suggested social posts)

  • Same booking guarantee and revenue split

What works best:

  • Promote 4–6+ weeks in advance (longer if 150+ capacity)

  • Clear drink/food incentives or package deals to boost spend

  • Staff briefed on timeline, doors, and upsells

Pricing & logistics:

  • For rooms over 90 seats

  • Same guarantee + split as regular shows

  • Minor extra production (more mics, slightly upgraded PA/lighting) may be recommended; we’ll advise

If your venue fits, tell us the capacity and preferred dates, and we’ll outline the promo timeline and production list.

Private events / Alumni / Recovery

$1600 - $3500

Look, I’m even wearing a suit in this photo.
Talk about professional.

Hosting a private event or running a treatment center and looking for sober comedy? Tell us what you have in mind, and we’ll bring the good times!

  • Alumni events or private parties: we charge a fee.

  • Stand-up at a treatment center: just cover my gas and kick me and whoever I bring $50 each for dinner — and we’ll call it even.

I perform recovery-friendly comedy designed to lift spirits, build connection, and bring hope. I’ve been there too — I know how much a laugh can help when you’re working toward recovery. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate show that respects the journey while giving people a real chance to smile.

Tell us:

  • Date, time, and location

  • Type of audience (residents, alumni, staff, family) and expected headcount

  • Any house rules or topics to avoid

  • Budget constraints or payment preferences

We’ll confirm availability and work with you to make it a memorable, recovery-centered event.

Joe Dimeo

Hey there — I’m Joe Dimeo, and I run this little operation.

I’m in active recovery and a proud alumnus of Eagle Creek Ranch Recovery in Boise, Idaho. I’m a 10-year comic and a small business owner. Yes, I’m very funny — just ask the ten other men I was in treatment with, cut off from their smartphones, women, friends, and family, doing six hours a day of group therapy. I was a f***ing riot.

I headline shows around Portland and work extensively with Harvey’s Comedy Club. Jeff (the owner) actually hired me before I was funny — because I was the only comedian in Portland who wouldn’t cry or sue after opening for retired pro wrestlers. They got laughs by headlocking or otherwise assaulting the "host" when they headlined at Harvey’s.

Real Life, Real Work

All joking aside, I’m a business owner (Black Bulb Creative), a husband, and I have a farm…

“How do you do it all?”

Easy — I’ve got a lot of time now that I’m not drinking all day.

I bring up the business thing because I know you’re running one too. Comedy is fun, but if you’ve worked with comics before, you know they don’t always get that you’ve got a schedule, a census, and a budget to manage. I do. We show up on time (or early), bring our own PA, and put on a f***ing great show. (See — I can swear, because this is comedy.)

Why I Travel with Sober Comics

I travel with friends because I kept accidentally booking all-sober comedy lineups in bars — and bars noticed they sold less liquor when every guy on stage was talking about how great life is without drinking.

But also, traveling solo isn’t always great for staying sober. So I bring sober friends — and they’re probably both funnier than me.

Todd Armstrong was one of the first guys to give me stage time. He’s been headlining for 15 years and opens for Iliza Shlesinger. Total gem.
Richie Stratton — this dude did Warped Tour and was literally the first comic to bring me on the road. He headlines all over and is the master of ceremonies for Dante’s in Portland.

If I don’t show up with them, it’ll be someone just as funny — and just as sober — whom I can stand to be in a car with for a few hours. You’ll always see me at the shows, because this is my thing.

Also, I sleep with the owner every night.
HAHA — TOLD YOU I WAS F*ING FUNNY!**

Why This Matters

But seriously — I want to be there. I know what laughter did for me in rehab. I know how much it helped me and the guys around me when we could crack a joke and feel a little lighter, even just for a moment.

Recovery gave me my life back.

I don’t want to be a famous comedian. I want to make people laugh. I want to make a decent living doing it. And I want to help your residents forget — even for a second — what kind of sh*tstorm they might be walking into when they leave.

I’ll always be professional. I’ll represent your facility well. And I’ll do it like my life depends on it — because it does.

I’m sober because I can still laugh.

If I had to boil it all down to one thing… it’d be my amazing life with my wife — but the ability to laugh through it all is a very close second.
